Regarding Commissions!
When Ill be open: Still deciding, I have a bunch of things I wanna do for myself first. School is a lot of work and I'm really tempted to hold off commissions until mid-May (that's when classes end for a few months for me).
When will I be open for (insert format here): When I open again, I will be open for all formats of commissions.
I will be: Making a new price sheet. Don't worry, prices aren't really going up, (sketches may, due to increased skill). But I'm tired of the super long 2013 format and want to make something smaller, easier to read that requires no scrolling.
Things I wanna do: Finish Benzy's animated prize port. Finish Duron's animated port. Draw Fédora. Draw Damian. Start streaming games more regularly. Finish Chaff's timeline. Finish Chrone's new were form. Finish Noir's sketch/port. Possibly draw Chrone more serious/dead (he is a zombie after all). Work on a port for a couple other alts.
Things I wanna start doing: Marker Sketches as a type of weekly special or something, for a cheap price. "Flashcard" sketches to get rid of this pile of flashcards on my desk. Make premade characters for sale. Make some adoptables. Make some YCH's.

What I need Feedback on: A lot of people have expressed interest in my patchwork and pixels art. I want to start making pay-to-use patches for furcadia. These would be patches I make myself to use, but also put up for sale for others to use. Why not make free patches? Because College has gotten me almost as broke as broke gets. Art takes time and I NEED money. I would love to do patches, but I have NO interest in doing custom patches for someone else. I want to do patches that inspire me and are fun for ME to make. I am told I am good at patching, so why not do some for cash?
The problems I'm facing and what I need feedback on specifically?
How much to charge: Price per item in the patch, or price on hours spent on the entire patch???
How to prevent thievery or patch sharing? Friends are good at sharing things, but how do you prevent someone from sharing copies of something that you made with all their friends for free, when its technically a pay-to-use item?
How to prevent re-posting of the patch on other sites for free (like roamheart?)
How to prevent others from selling the patch to others?

Currently, I am leaning towards providing everyone who is sold one a license key that I will, and they will be required to, keep a copy of. That way, if I come across a dream with someone using my patches, I can contact the owner (if I do not recognize the uploader's name) and ask them to provide the license number to prove they have the right to use it.
Additionally, if this license number is ever lost, I will require them to verify that they are the original purchaser (These methods I am undecided on- provide email correspondence logs, paypal, or???) before I give them their number back. If they are unable to provide proof, I will require them to buy a new license number from me.

THESE ARE NOT THE OFFICIAL TERMS OF USE, THIS IS A DRAFT.
-------------------------------------------------

Per the TOU (terms of use):
If the items in the patch are used (any of them, even if its just one,) the provided read-me file, which will have on it the TOU and credits, MUST ALWAYS BE PRESENT IN THE PATCH.
You may use any of the items in the patch, you're not required to use them all.
You may edit any of the items in the patch, but you may not ever re-sell, re-distribute, or claim credit of making the patches even after you have edited it.
You may not ever share these patches to anyone who has not purchased a license number from me, ever, regardless of their relationship to you. No exceptions.
You may not ever use these patches to make a dream for someone else- that is to say, the dream you use them for must be your own dream uploaded by you or your alts only, EVER.
You may, however, use the patches in any number of dreams you make or own so long as you include the read-me file in those patches.
You may only use these patches in dreams that are encrypted. That means you must have encryption enabled when you upload the dream as it prevents others from seeing or accessing your files.
If you do not know what encryption refers to, do not buy this patch until you know what it does.
If you are seen uploading a dream that is not encrypted using these files, Your license will be revoked until you have solved the problem.
Without a license, you do not legally have the right to use the patches in your dream.
If you lose your License number, you may contact me to retrieve it. Be prepared to prove who you are.
By purchasing this product, you acknowledge and agree that you will never give your License number to ANYONE else ever.
By purchasing this product, you acknowledge and agree that all emails, messages, and correspondence are a legally binding form of agreement that you have made with me to abide by these Terms of Use, and that if you violate them, I have the right to revoke your License if you are unable to follow them.
By purchasing this product, you acknowledge and agree that if you continue to use the patches after I have revoked your License and asked you to destroy all copies of them, that you are in the wrong and are subject to whatever punishment that Furcadia may find it necessary to levee upon you for this act of theft.

Do not think that because it is a patch file to be used in a game that it is not artwork. It is artwork, and it takes hours of time and devotion to make. If you steal it, or allow anyone else to steal it, do not think that I will not take appropriate legal action against you just because it is a small item. I am passionate about my art, as this is what I do for a living. Have some respect for me and what I do, and protect what you have purchased. You wouldn't like to spend 5 Million Dollars on an original Picasso piece, just to find out that someone has an exact copy of it sitting in their living room for free, now would you?
-------------------------------------------------

End of Draft.
Can anyone else think of anything that I haven't, or think of ways to improve this?

PS, yes I may be paying people with artwork to patrol dreams to make sure my patches aren't being stolen. Similar to DreamNova, you'd be in charge of dream-hopping just to look around and see if my artwork is present, and if so, make a list of who the dream uploader is just so that I can make sure they're someone who is legally allowed to have the patches. How much would I pay people to do this? I'm leaning towards a sketch or two per main map (like AI, Image, Etc), but that's up for debate depending how many maps they have to go through. For example someone patrolling FurN would be paid more than someone patrolling Acrop. And yes, I will be looking at a log/time to make sure you actually went into dreams and didn't just.. say you did.

Thoughts on this idea, or am I just way in over my head?

The licenses seem like a good idea. I was thinking there was a way to lock a patch to keep folks from copying it, but I suppose that wouldn't really work if you are selling it... LOL.
